Romstar also provide caliper inspection services as effective solution for detection and sizing of geometry defects in the pipelines. Caliper tools are used to measure internal pipeline diameter and to detect pipeline geometry imperfections (dents, gouges, ovalities, etc).

The Caliper & Geometry Tool measures diameter reductions in pipelines such as dents and ovalities. Diameter variations like girth-welds, wall thickness changes, T-pieces, valves and other installations features can be detected. The tool continuously measures the inside diameter of the pipeline through an array of sensing fingers. A large number of sensing fingers provide optimum coverage of the inside circumference. As the tool moves through the pipeline, all radial sensor movements are detected and recorded and analyzed after retrieval.

Multi-channel caliper tool is a new generation, advanced, in-line inspection tool that combines multi-channel caliper inspection and smart utility pig technologies to provide new levels of inspection capability and defect orientation detection, i.e. o'clock position reliable.
